Give stuff away through a recycling network

If you have household items you want to get rid of, or there's something you need, why not join a recycling community online?

Sites like freecycle.org allow members to give away items they no longer need. You can offer an item that you want to give away, or post a notice for something you want. Simple.

From garden mulch and pavers to baby clothes, kitchen utensils and lounge suites, these sites really do have everything -- give one a go and see what you can pick up or offload!

Note that these sites are all about freebies -- no money changes hands.

Check the FAQs of the service you're using: some trading sites require a trade to take place between the person offering the goods and the one taking them, but others, like Freecycle, simply facilitate the offloading of unwanted goods to people who desire them.
